We have proudly achieved the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2008 certification for the development and manufacture of LED light bulbs and lighting products. This independent certification validates our commitment to quality and affirms that Lighting Science has thoroughly documented its quality processes while meeting the stringent qualifications for the global ISO 9001:2008 standard.
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification provides Lighting Science a ways to demonstrate its ability to consistently meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. To qualify for ISO 9001:2008 certification, eight quality management principles were met: customer focus, leadership, involvement of people at all levels, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutual beneficial partner relationships.
ISO is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. International Standards give state of the art specifications for products, services and good practice, helping to make industry more efficient and effective. Developed through global consensus, ISO 9001 is used in some 176 countries by businesses and organizations large and small and help to break down barriers to international trade. Conflict Minerals Sourcing Policy
Lighting Science Group Corporation supports the goals expressed by Congress in enacting Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act: preventing armed groups from benefitting from the sourcing of Conflict Minerals (which are limited to tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold) in the region of the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries. The U.S. Secretary of State may or may not expand this list of derivatives in the future. Lighting Science Group Corporation is committed to the complying with reporting requirements by Section 1502 and SEC Rules. We are in the process of conducting inquiry of our suppliers to determine the source of any conflict minerals used in our products or components. Our suppliers, in turn, are being required to conduct the same inquiry with their own suppliers.
