Tufts University in Boston Massachusetts continues to strive for environmental accountability with its Climate Initiative. One aspect of this movement is converting from metal halide fixtures to LEDs in their Dowling Parking Garage. The original 150W metal halide luminaires were replaced with LSG’s Low Bay luminaire. The total project, which included replacing other light sources in the parking garage will reduce kWh demand 56% without compromising light levels.

Client: George Caraghiaur, Vice President of Energy Services at Simon
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Project detail: Parking garage fixture replacements with Lighting Science Group’s Low Bay luminaire. New fixtures will reduce kW demand by 56% without compromising light levels.
Energy and maintenance savings will total over $27,000

Imagine the first time a light bulb ever went on: How it pierced the dark where before there had only been a flame. Over a hundred years later, the industry is still in the dark, but about to receive a wake up call. And we say not a moment too soon.
Rather than a company that has inventors, we are a group of inventor with a company. We also have a mission: nothing less than to change the World. We want quality of light to stop coming with compromise, and we're making it so.
In short, our light is brilliant even when it isn't on. So to our employees, friends and customers we say: get ready to see more than ever before.
